Selling your car: how we use your information

This notice explains how SOB Autofix Limited (company number 16182532), Cumbrae, Station Road, Norton, Doncaster DN6 9HF, uses your information when you ask us to buy your car or take it in part exchange. We are the data controller. Contact us at info@sobautofix.com or on 07469 273483.

What we collect

Your name, phone number, email and postcode; your car's registration, details, condition answers and photos; and any messages and offers between us.

Why we use it

To look at your car, make you an offer, arrange an inspection and, if you sell to us, complete the purchase. We use it because you have asked us to do this before entering into a contract with you, and, once you sell, to meet our legal and accounting duties.

Who sees it

Our staff, and the companies that run our systems for us: website hosting (Vercel), our database and file storage (Supabase) and email delivery (Resend). We look up your car's details from its registration using the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and Vehicle Data Global. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.

Your photos

We remove location and camera data from photos when you upload them. Photos are kept private and are never shown on our website.

How long we keep it

If we do not buy your car, or you decide not to sell, we delete your photos, documents and registration 12 months after the enquiry is closed. If we buy your car, we keep the purchase records for 6 years, as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Email info@sobautofix.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
